Detective Opera Milky Holmes Gets New TV Anime in January

Game developer KLab and Bushiroad's Bushimo label announced that a new television anime series in the Detective Opera Milky Holmes (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) franchise has been green-lit for a January 2015 premiere on Tokyo MX TV and other stations. The four main Milky Holmes characters will perform the theme song "OverDrive!" for the new series, Tantei Kageki Milky Holmes TD.

"Attack on Titan" 1st Compilation Film to be Screened at Tokyo International Film Festival

It is officially announced today on September 17 that the first compilation film Attack on Titan: Guren no Yumiya, which compiles the first 13 episodes of the TV anime, will be screened at the upcoming 27th Tokyo International Film Festival as a special invitation film. The festival is scheduled to be held in Tokyo from October 23 to 31. The official screening day of the film in the event has not yet been announced, but it will be the film's world premiere one month ahead of its general theatrical release day in Japan, November 22.

46-year-old Unemployed Man Arrested for Posting "Maken-Ki! Two" on Video Sharing Site FC2

ACCS (The Association of Copyright for Computer Software) reported today on September 17 that Hokkaido Prefectural Police's Anti-Cyber Crime Division, Living and Safety Special Unit, and its Ebetsu Station arrested a 46-year-old unemployed man from Nishi Tokyo-city, Tokyo, on suspicion of copyright infringement on September 11, then referred the case to the Sapporo District Public Prosecutors Office on the following day.

2nd Rurouni Kenshin Sequel Film Earns 919 Million Yen in 1st Weekend

Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen (Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends), the second of two live-action Rurouni Kenshin sequel films, opened on Saturday in Japan on 434 screens and sold 717,958 tickets for 919,479,200 yen (about US$8.57 million). The film beat the record of the first sequel film to garner the biggest opening of any Japanese live-action film this year.

Sega announced on Tuesday that it will releaseHatsune Miku Project mirai Deluxe in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be released in spring 2015. The game is the Japanese version of Hatsune Miku Project mirai Remix, a complete version of the Hatsune Miku Project Mirai 2 sequel that will be released in the west and Asia next year.

New Nintendo 3DS Gets Pokémon Variants in Japan

Pokémon Centers throughout Japan will offer original variants of the upcoming New Nintendo 3DS system with the Pokémon Groudon or Kyogre on stamped suede-style plates. Pre-orders for the New Nintendo 3DS Groudon Edition and New Nintendo 3DS Kyogre Edition will begin this Saturday, and they will officially debut on November 21 for 19,000 yen (about US$190) each.

Aniplex of America Announces New "Gurren Lagann" Blu-ray Release

At their industry panel at Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado, Aniplex of America Inc. has announced that the Gurren Lagann Television series will be released on Blu-ray. Previously only available as part of the Gurren Lagann BD Set (Import), the TV series will now be available in a domestic Blu-ray release. The Gurren Lagann TV Series will be released on Blu-ray in a total of 5 volumes.

My Wife is Wagatsuma-san Manga to End on September 24

Manga author Yuu Kuraishi announced on Twitter last month that the manga series My Wife is Wagatsuma-san(Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome) will end in this year's 43rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on September 24. This year's 42nd issue is confirming the series will end when the issue is released on Wednesday. Kuraishi stated that it is impossible to keep up with the busy schedule of a manga creator and work in a restaurant chain at the same time.

Prisma Illya Third Season Announced

This week’s 10th and final episode of the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Zwei television series ended with an announcement that the franchise will get a third season next year. The official website for the television anime of Hideyasu Takahashi's Mysterious Joker (Kaitō Joker) manga began streaming a commercial for the series on Friday. The commercial features the opening theme "Kaitō Miracle Shonen Boy" (Mysterious Miracle Young Boy) by Aruka Rider.
Joker: My name is Phantom Thief Joker! I'm a miracle-maker who travels to world, aiming to obtain various treasures! I can get out of devestating trouble every time with tricks that defy logic! Whoa! "Ai Tenchi" Anime Cast and Visual Unveiled

Sci-fi relationship comedy Tenchi Muyo returns this October with a 50-episode run of 5-minute shorts. Cast and staff have now been detailed for the new incarnation of the classic sci-fi harem series. Hiroshi Negishi helms and helps to write the AIC PLUS + production. Masami Inomata adapts Suzuhito Yasuda's character designs and works with Hiroaki Aida on animation direction duties.

Most of the classic cast return, but there's a new Aeka voice joining plenty of newcomers as the titular returning hero serves undercover as a teacher in a girls' school.

The World God Only Knows Manga to Get Train-Themed Spinoff

The official website of Weekly Shonen Sunday announced on Wednesday that The World God Only Knows manga will receive a spinoff series titled "Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai On The Train" starting on September 19. The spinoff manga will appear on Shogakukan's free online manga publication Club Sunday, which is linked to the Shonen Sundaymagazine.
The World God Only Knows manga ended in the series' 26th volume, which shipped in June. The story follows dating sim master Keima Katsuragi, who wants nothing more than to immerse himself in the 2D world, chasing digital girlfriends. But when the so-called "Capturing God" answers a mysterious email from an unknown sender, Keima finds himself chasing down real-life ladies in an attempt to help the peppy demon Elsie de Lute Irma capture "lost souls" escaped from the depths of hell. Now, lest the explosive collar around his neck detonate, Keima must convince various girls to fall in love with him in order to scare out the souls hiding in their hearts.
The series inspired three anime series which streamed on Crunchyroll, and Sentai Filmworks released the first two seasons on home video in North America. The series also inspired several sequel and spin-off origninal video anime projects.
